soundA&R: make the most of your music

With less record deals on offer to new acts and with established artists wanting greater control of their own careers, many musicians are turning to the DIY approach.

But in this new DIY world relying on a myspace page or some old traditional marketing and PR, is just not enough. Which is why we help artists with a fresh approach to marketing.

Yet the music still comes first. More than ever artists need to make strong and distinctive music, which is why we help artists to open, shape and organize the creative process.

As Daft Punk said: “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”.

how do we help?

Once we have established a current picture of the artist and their music, ongoing advice can be provided that turns the creative direction into a reality during the recording process, and post-recording helps provide the context to help your music succeed in an ever changing marketplace.

  1. Idea Generation. We help the artist get into the creative zone, and help them stay there for the duration of the recording sessions.
  2. Artistic Guidance. We provide and experienced and independent set of ears to comment constructively on demos, songwriting, arrangements and mixes.
  3. Collaborative Support. We can provide suggestions of engineers, producers, session musicians, collaborators and studios that will get that little bit more out of your sound.
  4. Post Recording. We can help with sequencing, mastering and remixes.

This whole process can be co-ordinated by citizensound allowing the artist to concentrate on being creative, and giving mangers the space to develop your business.

how does it work?

soundA&R can help new and developing acts as well as established artists. And that means a flexible approach to what we offer, and how we charge. We even have a pay-as-you-go service, where you can buy minutes of our time. If needed, we can provide ongoing advice and support that helps you over time.
